The survival horror video game series Resident Evil has been king of its genre since it first came out in 1996. Battling flesh craving zombies has been so popular with fans that the game has appeared on numerous platforms over the years, each time widening its fan base. Now, Capcom has brought Resident Evil: Degeneration to the iPhone, customizing it to suit the phone and iPod touch.
In the game you play as Leon Kennedy, one of the many heroes who have appeared in the series, who has been dropped off into an airport infested by the undead and other deadly monsters. The traditional over the shoulder third person perspective remain intact, as well as the 3D environment that fans of the series have come to expect. There are twelve chapters to complete with missions ranging from searching out survivors and valuable items to finding clues to the back story as you shoot your way through the teeming evil bent on eating you.
The iPhone’s controls work smoothly with the game, encouraging easy play and a simple set of icons keep the screen from becoming cluttered. Being able to shake the iPhone in order to fend off attackers has appealed to many fans.
You can get this game for any iPhone or iPod touch that runs the iPhone 2.2.1 software update for $7.00
